Curing Process
Moisture-Activated Curing The unique strength of POR-15 lies in its curing process. Unlike most paints, which dry through evaporation, POR-15 dries faster when moisture is present. Its opposite chemistry means it cures more effectively in wet conditions. Once cured, the coating forms an indestructible, hammer-tough finish.
Application Instructions
Surface Preparation Start by cleaning the surface with POR-15 water-based Cleaner Degreaser to remove grease, oil, and other foreign substances. Follow with POR-15 Metal Prep to etch the surface and neutralize any existing rust. Stir the POR-15 Rust Preventive Coating thoroughly, avoiding shaking. Apply thin coats, at a minimum of two, ensuring even coverage. Recoat or topcoat when the surface is dry to the touch, typically 2 to 5 hours. For outdoor exposure, topcoat when necessary to protect against UV light.
